Hot off the press this week and on my current wish list is Gale Gand’s seventh cookbook, Gale Gand’s Brunch!, featuring a number of fancy schmancy recipes from Baked Eggs in Ham Cups and Almond Ciabatta French Toast to morning pastries like Ginger Scones with Peaches and Cream. The book supposedly “shares how to effortlessly enliven the basics,” so I’m curious about how “effortless,” we’re talking about here. Nonetheless, it’s probably the closest thing to brunch at Tru and therefore pretty damn good. List price is $27.50, but you can score as low as $16.99 on some websites.
