Publican brunch starts Sunday

Culinary scene starlet, Publican, will begin serving brunch this Sunday, unveiling their brunch specialty drink: the beer mimosa.

Beer mimosas certainly aren’t new — in fact, they’re a bit of a camping staple when locked up in the wilderness. Unlike my personal recipe of the champagne of beers, Miller High Life and Tropicana, Publican’s beer mimosas are made with something a bit nicer: a combination of 1809 Berliner Weisse, a wheat beer from Berlin fermented with brewer’s yeast and lactic bacteria, and orange juice.

Entree prices are reasonable to pricey, averaging about $15, and are bound to impress, with these menu items set to premiere: Benton ham, red wine-poached egg, grilled bread and béarnaise; wood-fired egg with harissa, Gouda and grilled bread; and smoked ham chop with Bird Mill grits and poached egg.

And just because I love Helen Rosner so much: Girl, this attribution goes out to you (even though you got it from the Stew). Menupages reports that Paul Kahan will be Twittering the entire brunch opening. Kahan will still be active in the kitchen and not be typing away at his blog, but I have to take issue with the Twitter-mania that is going around. Can this trend of updating every waking moment die sooner rather than later?
