Brunch delivery at your doorstep

Imagine, if you will, that it is Saturday morning. You lazily wake up maybe an hour later than your alarm usually goes off, and turn to the love of your life, while listening to the pitter patter of raindrops outside. You gently kiss your lover on the forehead and step outside your boudoir to find that the pitter patter of raindrops is actually coming from your dining room, forming a growing cesspool of rainwater combined with bits of drywall underneath where your ceiling used to be — despite having informed your landlord of this situation at least four times. At least that was my Saturday.

Whether you’re incapacitated or simply too lazy to search for brunch, you’ve managed to give in and say, “Screw you, I’m not leaving my house!” Here is a list of brunch restaurants in the city that deliver:

Kitsch’n in Roscoe Village/River North
Does it seem counterproductive to have a restaurant that specializes in home style classics deliver to your house? It’s certainly at least twice as delicious with less work and clean up, that’s for sure. Kitsch’n’s two locations allow you to order brunch delivery online to cater your home or office conveniently with minimal social interaction.

Icosium Kafe in Lincoln Park
Unless you are an incredibly motivated person or live in walking distance, the prospects of parking in Lincoln Park during prime brunch hour is the equivalent of playing Frogger, except less fun and an actual waste of time. This Algerian creperie gets mad props from west-siders for delivering as far out as Division and Western, not to mention that its crepes are aaaammmaaazzziinnggg. Read more…

Le Peep in Near West Side
Five pages of brunch items to choose from and just enough effort to grab your wallet and pay the delivery dude. Seems simple enough, yeah?

Horizon Cafe in Lakeview
An omelet seems so effortless to make until you realize you haven’t been grocery shopping in two weeks and your fridge is starting to remind of your college days — not in a good way. As opposed to dressing decently enough to scour at least 12 aisles for five items, Horizon lets you order your typical brunch online without the hassle.

Feast in Wicker Park
This Wicker Park restaurant is not necessarily one of the top New American brunch spots, but definitely one of the a few who delivers. Beggars can’t be choosers, my friend.

Chicago’s Home of Chicken and Waffles in Bronzeville
FYI: this restaurant is on the South Side, i.e. you might be not be eligible for delivery unless you are a South Sider. But, if you’re in the delivery zone, it’s all chicken and waffles, kiddo. Can’t get much better than that.
